Alluvium Townsville welcomes Fiona Chandler

7.07.2016 - Posted by Matt Francey

We are very excited to announce that Fiona Chandler is joining the Alluvium team as manager of our Townsville office in August. Fiona was born and bred in Bowen with the GBR as her back yard - scuba diving after school and taking days off school when the weather was good to go fishing with her dad. She is now keen to head north again after long and successful stints in SEQ (and even other places south of the border).
Fiona has been working as Executive Director, Communications and Adoption with the Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities (CRCWSC). Her role included leading the $1.1 million Adoption Pathways Research Program along with the Stakeholder Engagement, Communications and Adoption (including education and training) Portfolio.
She has recently been appointed as a Director of the Stormwater Industry Association Board (voluntary basis) and is an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering, the University of Queensland. Fiona holds a degree in Applied Science majoring in Natural Systems and Wildlife Management, and a Masters degree in Natural Resource Management.
Her current CRCWSC position is a full time secondment from her permanent position as Program Manager with the International WaterCentre (IWC) based in Brisbane, where she led various programs including research, business development, training and capacity building, and knowledge services portfolios. In addition to working across Australia, Fiona has managed projects for a large number of global clients to design and deliver integrated water management solutions, and to build their technical and organisational capacity to achieve integrated water management outcomes. Prior to joining the IWC and the CRCWSC Fiona held the role of Executive Officer and Team Leader for the Water Cycle Policy and Stakeholder Management Team with the Water Resources Branch, Brisbane City Council.
She is passionate about sustainable water, stormwater and natural resource management, and building the capacity of these industry sectors. We know Fiona will add a lot to the Alluvium team in terms of integrated water management and its links to liveability all across the country, as well as adding her experience to the direction of our business across northern Australia.

Welcome Fiona!
