Alluvium was commissioned by the Glenelg Hopkins CMA to undertake the upgrade of two rock ramp fishways. The designs needed to maintain the functions of the existing weirs and gauges at each site.

The fishways were designed to provide the hydraulic criteria that enabled 13 recorded local fish species passage up the waterways. This included the vulnerable Southern Pygmy Perch, Yarra Pygmy Perch and species such as the Flathead Gudgeon and a range of Galaxias.

A full width rock ramp with raised rock ridges was selected as the preferred fishway structure at the sites, providing a full width fishway entrance and being less susceptible to sedimentation and debris issues following high flow events.

Alluvium oversaw the implementation of the fishway which included commissioning of the structures
