Alluvium carried out an assessment of coastal processes and erosion mitigation options for Lamberts Beach, a section of the Mackay coastline severely impacted by cyclone activity. Stakeholder engagement and technical assessments were undertaken to inform the options assessment.

Critical to the narrative for Lamberts Beach was this historical context of the site, being an area that was developed into a prior dune field, and a foreshore build on fill material that has since been progressively eroding.

Community feedback from the public information session was that the narrative of
the site history and coastal processes was really valuable and helped frame the context to the management options and ultimately provided a basis for shared  understanding of Council’s preferred management approach (sand nourishment).
