The Australian Water Partnership (AWP) engaged Alluvium to review the river basin planning policy and regulatory frameworks in India to inform development of a basin planning guide. The guide provides recommendations on policy reform options, including appropriate policy frameworks and related institutional and legal mechanisms to support effective basin planning and governance. The Krishna Basin has been selected for a pilot study. The project was carried out in partnership with Access Water Management and Institute of Sustainable Futures, University of Technology, Sydney. As part of the project, a series of stakeholder consultations and Australia exposure visits for officials from Krishna Basin states were organised.
