Alana is an environmental scientist and project manager with over 15 years of experience in environmental planning, management, and facilitation across all levels of government, not-for-profit, and government-owned corporations.
Alana’s professional experience has included the negotiation of strategic policy, project and funding-based outcomes; writing, analysing, and responding to state and local government policies; developing science communication products, playing an influential role in stewardship to support water quality improvement, and playing a representative role on a range of advisory committees.
Alana is passionate about supporting local communities and their leaders to protect and restore natural resources in a practical and sustainable manner through appropriate and genuine engagement. Alana has an extensive understanding of environmental policy and legislation in the Australian and Queensland context having direct experience with navigating policy and legislation relating to the Great Barrier Reef, biodiversity, water quality, biosecurity, and environmental policy. Alana focuses on achieving outcomes of value for stakeholders and has a strong track record for delivering quality strategic solutions to resolve challenges.
