Priyaga recently completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne, specialized in Environmental Hydrology and Water Resources. Her PhD thesis focused on investigating the effect of surface-subsurface water exchange in meandering rivers on nitrogen fate and transport. This research identifies natural ecosystem processes as future engineering tools to improve river health and management and can be incorporated into river restoration practices. In this research, she demonstrated expertise in surface-subsurface water hydrology, water quality modelling, CFD modelling, reactive transport modelling, river topography modelling, experimental design, and statistical data analysis.

Before joining Alluvium, she worked as a research assistant at the University of Melbourne, where she expanded her knowledge on storm-water management and water sensitive urban design concepts and tools. With this experience, she is highly interested in continuing work in Urban water and waterway management to make a positive contribution to the society and environment.
