Sanaz is a Senior Economist with over ten years of experience working on multidisciplinary projects to support economic, policy, and regulatory decision makers and their stakeholders. She excels in combining her interpersonal, policy and technical skills to inform strategic policy, planning and business management decision-making in both public and private sectors.
Before joining NCE, Sanaz worked with government departments and primary industry RDCs, conducting impact assessments for agricultural, conservation, natural resource, and environmental research programs, and applying cost-benefit analysis to support investment appraisals. She also worked on policies and regulations for environmental markets, particularly the NSW Biodiversity Offsets Scheme, contributed to the net zero mission at CSIRO and development of economic evaluation frameworks at the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities. Her economics PhD focused on decarbonisation and dynamic optimisation modelling for the economic management of soil acidity, nitrogen fertility, and agricultural greenhouse gas emissions in WA.
At NCE, Sanaz brings expertise in quantitative analysis, business development, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and policy development. She collaborates with colleagues across the Alluvium Group to address complex challenges in natural resource management, biodiversity, water resource management and conservation, renewable energy, and the low-carbon economy.
