Abbas is an urban development professional and researcher with over nine years of experience. Holding a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics, he currently works as a Senior Economist at our Alluvium office in Delhi, India.
During his tenure at the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) in Delhi, Abbas played a pivotal role in diverse projects centred around critical domains including Municipal Finance, Environment, and Urban Governance. Abbas led and successfully managed the projects from their inception to successful realization, ensuring a seamless trajectory that aligns with set objectives.
Highlighting his accomplishments, he has taken the lead in drafting guidelines for the National Mission on Sustainable Habitat on behalf of the Government of India. He has also formulated impactful approaches for Small Town Development and achieved significant milestones within the Urban Outcomes Framework 2022 a flagship program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, India. As a committed team member of the National Urban Digital Mission, he led the implementation of UPYOG, an Urban Digital platform, across all cities in the northeastern states of India.
