Jala possesses expertise in hydrology, hydrodynamic modelling, and water resources management with relevant degrees from India. Having 10 years of professional experience, she has been involved in research and commercial consultancy in more than 25 projects in India, Bhutan and Nepal funded by World Bank, ADB, KfW Development Bank, Swiss Development Corporation and UNDP. She has experience and a broad knowledge of catchment and environmental processes. Most of her previous assignments were conducted on water availability, rapid flood assessments, flood hazard mapping, flood risk analysis for industrial, residential, and agricultural areas, groundwater movement it’s water quality assessment, management of flood and sediment in the riparian areas as part of feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports, master plan and Project Management Consultation.

Jala has proficiency in hydrological and hydraulic modelling tools such HEC HMS, HECRAS, MIKE HYDRO RIVER, MIKE URBAN, MIKE +, MIKE FLOOD and MIKE SHE.

Together with consulting activities, she has been involved in training programs under flood management studies, integrated basin management programs and capacity building programs to stakeholders, institutes such IITs, NITs, central and state Indian research organisations.
