Mia is an ecologist with a keen interest in coastal and marine ecology, science communication and enhancing the resilience of ecosystems. With a degree and Honours in Zoology, Mia provides essential analytical, research and engagement support across a number of projects. She believes the need for clear and effective communication of environmental issues is key to creating lasting and meaningful change. Since joining Alluvium, Mia has contributed to the delivery of numerous Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategies for coastal Queensland councils, a Shoreline Erosion Management Plan, and a National Drought Resilience Research & Adoption Investment Plan.

From her prior experience in not for profit and research organisations, Mia has data analysis and fieldwork experience in marine environments. Mia enjoys travelling, indoor rock climbing and the ocean. She is passionate about understanding interactions both within and between ecosystems and encouraging stewardship of our local environments.
