Nick recently graduated with a Master of Engineering and joined the waterway engineering team in our Melbourne office. During his degree, his focus centered around water-oriented issues in the environment and the relationship between engineering and society.
For his thesis project, he began the translation of coastal monitoring software to an open-source programming language, with the aim to improve its accessibility to researchers around the world. In doing so, he partnered with researchers in Belgium and the Netherlands and has combined two of his passions in environmental engineering: digital tools and international collaboration.
With a particular interest in morphodynamics of fluvial and coastal systems, he appreciates the importance of a strong fundamental understanding of the natural environment we work with. Nick has previously worked in Belgium and Germany and has experience with CAD, Python, and MATLAB.
