Paul is an environmental scientist with diverse experience in consulting and research. Paul works across many different projects at Alluvium, particularly those related to water resources, waterways, coastal hazards, urban open space and biodiversity management. He is particularly skilled in technical writing, science communication, GIS and data analysis, and has expertise in fields such as geomorphology, ecology and urban geography.
Before joining Alluvium, Paul’s experience included environmental and social impact assessments for African and Southeast Asian infrastructure projects, a Geoscience Australia project about national streamflow data, and two years with a Melbourne start-up that promoted and designed green infrastructure.
Paul has three science degrees, a surveying qualification, and publications in journals such as Earth-Science Reviews and Ecological Engineering. His PhD thesis was about post-fire landscape processes in the Sydney region, and his MPhil thesis was about the potential to combine food production with Water Sensitive Urban Design.
